This is an online event to bring our academic partners together from across the globe to share ideas and create a community. We will be exploring the challenges of teaching interactive narrative and immersive storytelling in higher education and the ways in which Stornaway.io can enrich the experience for researchers, practitioners, and students.
We will start with co-founders Kate Dimbleby and Ru Howe, who will touch on various different topics, including starting students up with Stornaway.io, our new features and student projects we are excited about. We’ll also be hearing from one of our own student filmmakers on the team- Kate Moody– about the ways in which she used Stornaway in her filmmaking degree and the advice she’d give to current students.
We will then move on to breakout rooms, where attendees have the chance to speak with the Stornaway.io team themselves, with three available breakout rooms:
Co-Founder, Ru Howe: Using Stornaway and upcoming features
Co-Founder, Kate Dimbleby: Student Engagement
Head of Partnerships and New Business, Charlotte Panchaud: Stornaway HQ feedback & requests
Interactive narrative is fast becoming a vital aspect of modern media. Audiences are seeking more immersive and engaging experiences, while producers seek to cut through the noise by creating interactive narratives that will capture their audience’s attention and leave a lasting impact. As educators, we need to prepare our students for this rapidly changing media landscape while as researchers and practitioners, we need to be upskilling ourselves to take advantage of the opportunities offered by interactive media.
